Showing slides
Normal operation with one presentation
You can only host a PowerPoint presentation if you have Microsoft PowerPoint
© installed on your PC, otherwise you will be unable to host a
presentation, and the PowerPoint controls shown below will not be present on
your user interface. Note that you will still be able to view presentations
shown on the display screen that are hosted by other people in the meeting
whether or not you have PowerPoint installed.

|
Press the open icon to select a PowerPoint presentation to host on the
display screen. A popup will be displayed that will enable you to browse to
and select the presentation that you wish to display. If you are currently
showing another presentation, then the new presentation that you select will
be shown instead of the current presentation, which will be closed.
|

|
Press the next slide icon to move forward one slide. The slide being shown
on the display screen will be updated with the next slide from your
presentation, unless you are already showing the last slide. If you are not
currently showing slides, then pressing the next slide icon will have no
effect.
|

|
Press the previous slide icon to move backward one slide. The slide being
shown on the display screen will be updated with the previous slide from your
presentation, unless you are already showing the first slide. If you are not
currently showing slides, then pressing the previous slide icon will have no
effect.
|

|
Press the close presentation icon to close a power point presentation that
you are hosting on the display screen. The screen will be cleared, and your
presentation will be closed. If you, or anyone else, are watching slides in a
separate display screen window, then the separate slide windows will all be
closed too. The next and previous slide buttons will not operate until you
have opened a new presentation. If you are not currently showing slides, then
pressing the close presentation icon will have no effect. |
When you are viewing slides you can adjust your view of the display screen
as described in Viewing the display screen.
Operation with more than one simultaneous presentation
Note that more than one participant can host a presentation simultaneously.
What happens is that the display screen simply shows the last slide that was
presented by any participant.
So if you are showing a slide, and someone else who is also presenting
slides displays a slide, the display screen will be updated with their
selection. Likewise if you then show another slide, your selection will be displayed
on the screen, replacing their slide.
If you want to reshow your last slide, after someone else has replaced it
with a slide of their own, then you will need to press the previous slide icon,
then the next slide icon, in order to refresh it. Likewise if you want to
reshow your first slide, after someone else has replaced it with a slide of
their own, then you will need to press the next slide icon, then the previous
slide icon, in order to refresh it
If you press the close presentation icon when someone else is simultaneously
showing slides the display screen will be cleared and any separate display
screen windows closed, even if it is somebody else’s slide that is
currently being displayed.
